Got hold of a swiss 183 last year in a trade.

Watch was fine until 26th December just past, when at 17.30 it decided to stop ticking.....and it was fully wound.

I left it in the watch box contemplating a service/repair.

Then on 4th January it decided to start ticking again....all by itself.

I'm wearing it today and so far no problems.....

anyone have any ideas over what could have caused this?

I plan to have it serviced and regulated in the near future, but just wondered if anyone had an opinion????

@Valerian - I thought maybe it ha ddecided to avoid the forthcomming (and now present) siberian spell we're having here.....

@FxrAndy - sounds plausible. At least it's working now so not totally dead. I think I'll have it serviced soon (maybe next month - need to recover a bit from Xmas etc).

i have a pam that stops ticking when its face down and in some other positions it works about 90% of the time as Im wearing it. its really wierd, i just baught a new movement to put in it, and im gonna practice my horology skills on this one
