Finepics
Was going through the photos in the big black and white Panerai book and was looking closely at this pic to see how the bezel assembly comes apart when I realised that this is a 44mm 1950 style case, a chrono movt, helium valve, screw down crowns and a submersible bezel. Anyone any ideas???
thomasng
I'm thinking the PAM Slytech 202......... Edit: I take it back, I just noticed the bit about 44mm case.... OOPS!
ravishingrick
Are you sure it is 44mm, not 47mm. It looks to me to be 47mm PAM194...
Finepics
Ah - of course it's the Slytech 202. The rep has the wrong shape case which is why I did not think of it. It can't be the 194 as that has a similar bezel to the 187 with numbers and lozenge markers. The real thing is it shows how the bezels are constructed which could be useful to disassemble the 187 to replace the markers. Can anyone work it out? swdivad
Looks like a 202 to me, but that's 47mm. I don't think there are 1950 style cases in 44 except for the 212, 213, 253, and those aren't subs. Where'd you get this book?
Finepics
I just assumed it was 44mm - my mistake. I got the book when I was in the Wempe shop in Berlin - its that big book with a metal looking ships porthole on the cover. Was produced this year. Watchmeister
The book comes up for sale on Ebay from time to time or your local AD (in NY anyhow).
Cucumber_Jones
Yes that is the 202 slytech. If the rep looked like that with a "fiddy" case it would sell big. I also want them to step up with the 243 44mm Fiddy based sub!
