Ne0n
Are you talking about movements in replica or genuine Omegas? Like dluddy says, every movement need service one time or another, asias-clone movements should get service before you use the movement. Genuine ETA like 2824 would also need service, but parts are easy to get, most watchsmiths' can repair them and so on.. Real Omega movements are based on the ETA 2892-A2, where the 1120 is known to be one of the best Omega movements. The 2500 is new and has a lower beat-speed (25,200) than 1120 (28,800), you can read an interesting article about why 1120 might be better than 2500 here: rolexreferencepage. donsz
Thanks for the info. It's for a rep not a gen.
ubiquitous
In that case, I'd reiterate dluddy's response; a properly serviced movement will provide the best results, be it Asian or Swiss. Depending on which movement you have, however, parts supply may or may not be an issue, which will have an influence on longevity; Swiss ETA movements like the 2824/2836/2892 et all have been around for a long time, and there are plenty of parts out there (and supply will continue into the future). Certain Asian movements may be a little more difficult to obtain parts for, and Swiss parts may not be fully interchangable/compatible. Therefore, my personal pref is Swiss ETA (but that's just me). fakemaster
The one you service and take care of. Actually with an Omega you would be best served with a low beat anyhow since they don't use highbeats in the gen.
