specialvat Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 Having bought a Royal oak jumbo from Paul, I m looking to improve the bezel screw/bezel gap show in this picture from Paul. Heres a 15002 pic for comparison First Ideas are remove bezel and fill with solder from underneath or Fill gap with silver metal paint or model paint which is semi dry... ubiquitous Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 No need to remove the bezel; the screw/bolt holes don't go all the way through: Removing the bezel doesn't do much good anyways... ubiquitous Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 The ROO has that case construction with the bezel bolted through; but these standard Royal Oaks are built using a press fit bezel. specialvat Posted January 20, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 I bought a cheap rose gold RO, I ve got an angle grinder and an ill will towards it. Going to make the bezel bolt to the case and thru the back. I need to source some thru bolts that are male and female, found a company in india that will make some to specification but they may only do massive runs. I ve got some titanium coated drill bits to drill the case and bezel, and will probably need some tungsten carbide bits too. Before and after dremel: The case would not co operate with me so it had a chat with the angle grinder: The angle grinder is my new go to tool, noisey bugger tho ! Need to finish three more but dont want to rush and make a mess of it. specialvat Posted February 8, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2010 I m changing the bezel screws for larger versions so the gap is eliminated. The seconds hand and canon pinion is also being resolved, although this will be done by a professional as I cant fit the angle grinder in the gap Thanks for the pointers guys.
