King's Portuguese Power Reserve Auto

I'm considering an IWC Portuguese Automatic Power Reserve for a friend.

I was looking around the cartel, Puretime and King and it seems that only King has one with the correct RESERVE on the rotor, but maybe I'm wrong cause I don't know much on IWC reps.

Any comments on King's (IWC-108) Auto Power Reserve?

Does anyone have any experience with this watch?

Also, I presume that since we're talking about a cheap A21j there is not any correct datewheel mod available?

Many thanks for taking the time to come back with your comments.

Hi,

I am currently looking at this model. There are the following flaws:

incorrect dateweehl ( white instead of black, wrong font)

incorrect subdials & spacing

incorrect movement decoration, rotor, engraving

incorrect crown.

Search google for Iwc power reserve, and compare the pics to the rep.

my advice: forget it, wait for a better one or get another model.

Best, J

Many thanks J for taking the time to reply,

Of course it has all these flaws my friend;-)

Honestly I find the datewheel the most unacceptable flaw of the constantly visible ones and the disgusting movement decoration the worst of the b-side.

But despite them all it's still a very nice watch for $190 shipped...

Has anyone actually bought this watch from King? how does this "correct" RESERVE look like in real life?

Havent updated for a long time the review, in fact the rotor is the weak point of the watch imo (ugly and in my case the ball bearing is not totally flat, it caused the disagrement but after cleaning/re-oiling the bearing the rotor is moving way better and its less noisy but still noisy) and also the datewindow/datewheel, especially on the black version, on the grey dial the contrast is not as important with the white datewheel.

Also keep in mind that its a pretty big watch, even the Mont Blanc Timewalker Chrono fits better on a small wrist and it seems as big as a PO Chrono (45mm) but its definitely not the same shape so it doesnt fit the same.

After 'aging' a little the strap it feels/looks a bit better but its still not as good as a good leather strap (compared to a Bob calf leather strap for example).
