Guest ThePhilosopher Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Shutter speed is how long the sensor (or film) is exposed to actually record the image you see through the viewfinder. With a DSLR you can set it to Bulb (named because old cable releases used a bulb that was squeezed to release expose the film) and lock the exposure for as long as the battery will last. Your camera has a longest exposure time (minimum shutter speed of 16 seconds.
OSRep Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 You are always an inspiration when it comes to great photos! Wonderful You actually had to wait 1hr 15mins and 43mins for the orbiting star photos?
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Yep, lock the shutter open with my MC-20 and go inside and play some 9 ball and drink some scotch.

Guest ThePhilosopher Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Me too, here's a one lighter 27" Beauty Dish: 50mm f/1.4 wide open from the same set (though with an 84" silver umbrella and the modeling lamp only):
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 I know I've been slacking, but here's what I've been up to: Some from my first trip to Glenwood - Efke 100PL 4x5 shot with a 4.25" Meniscus lens:
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 Emily is a local model. She is short, right?
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Some beauty shots: Nikon D3 and 6 shots with a hazy Nikon 20mm f/2.8: Some other nearby shots:
Pugwash Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 I suspect more than half the work was put in in post-production on some of these. Great work.
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Indeed, all the beauty shots took a while to do because I do everything by hand no plugins allowed (about 45 minutes per image).
