pete2528ca
How would one remove a crystal without specialized tools? I have a rep RXW MM20, which i want to remove the shitty crystal out of and put in a DSN tall plexi. (I am converting it into a vintage piece) Should I push it out with my fingers, or is there some other way. Thanks Pietro
valerian
Hi Some members do it without special gear. Obviously you can force it out with your thumb by pressing from the inside. I'd never do this. Imagine a mineral crystal breaking while your thumb presses on it. Getting the new crystal in without the press is something else. I don't know if this is even possible. Crystal presses are quite cheap at Offshore's Watch Blitz store. Val.
unregistered
Removing and putting in is easy with the presses available. The issue though is the gaskets tend to become unusable after they've been pressed out and you need new ones. I've got one watch which has water pressure issues due to this and I can;t find replacement gaskets.
