  1. Finally built one of my favorite watches ever, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm. Big thanks go out to my good friend spin for all the work on this. Parts include: 5th gen 42mm PO rep with swiss 2824 fully serviced. Gen hands Gen dial Gen crystal Gen crown + tube Gen HEV Gen caseback Gen bracelet Some comparison shots with my gen 3573.50 and DSSD Wristies (on the old rep bracelet before I switched it over) So so very happy, and all at a very very reasonable price.
  2. My two favorite straps of the moment for the 390. Orloff's JV and the Cheapass I think my base collection is quite nice if I do say so myself
  3. Sold this already but strap changes arn't simple like a quick release, they use the normal spring bars so as per any "normal" watch. They do provide the springbar tool to help with things. Weight was a little light for my preference and with Ti it was a scratch magnet. Absolutely loved it though and as a JLC its one of the best out there for certain, especially bang for buck in terms of in house movement.
  4. 1sec exposure, 3mins lapse. Compared against Helson Sharkmaster with is gen C3 applied.
  5. As much as people want to debate the H vs N for the 243, the bezel and CG is the clincher for the 243. And quite clearly, the Noob is the way to go if you want accuracy to the gen. It just feels right. The 390, its grown on me heaps. At first I wasn't a fan, but now, I can't stop looking. My other watches are jealous.
  6. Thanks mate. Been a while since we last met up, been too busy on Sunday mornings to swing by for the gtgs.
  7. Having some fun today. Noob 243 & 390 macro shots. Love these pieces. 390
  8. Not sure if its your particular Noob crystal that has issues but my 243 is spotlessly clear. Not comparing vs the H-fact version but based on the various pieces I have in my collection or pieces I've seen its more than not an issue. Far from any DSN hazy crystals. But if they are doing an upgrade for the dial, that would be useful. That said, all the comments that the dial is not superlume need to be taken with a pinch of salt. I felt the same way till I did a comparison against a C3 lumed piece I have. Both faded out at the same intensity. H-fact may be added more lume or applying it better/thicker which gives it better glow. Lume (1sec exposure, 3 min between shots) At the end of the day, the bezel and CG are the dealbreakers for the H-factory IMO. The 243 is defined by these two aspects and the Noob nailed it.
  9. Got it from Torobravo. Lovely quality piece. Sadly moving it on.
  10. Sorry guys, haven't been receiving thread update messages and I know some have asked. Just to clarify. This is a gen. Older 2006 model, but still gen.
  11. 305 > 187G The CG completely kills it for me on the 187. Relume etc all can fix the other issues and my fear of the date pusher notwithstanding, that CG is downright wrong. So far the pics barring QC issues, from the front looks pretty decent and passable as gen. Yes the hash tags are a little thin and the borders on the lume markers a little thick, but overall, it looks quality. I'd wait and pick up a v2 since this maker tends to do that quite a bit.
  12. As promised, lume comparison versus my Helson Sharkmaster meant to be lumed with pure C3. 1sec exposure, 3mins between shots. I guess I may have been wrong on the 243 as the intensity degrades just as much as the Helson. Really surprised by that as on the wrist, it just didn't seem to feel as strong or last as long.
  13. I'll get a lume comparison shot up today. stormtrooper: Its a bit of a conundrum this piece. From top down, it wears small because the dial is significantly smaller than a standard Luminor. But from the side, its a thick and heavy piece, sitting very tall. Weight wise, its at least 1.5x heavier than a standard Luminor. You will immediately notice the difference and this needs to be worn tight to prevent it flopping around.
  14. Wristie Thoughts 1) Heavy friggin watch! 2) Overall good quality feel. Nicely polished and brushed 3) Pearl though bulging in macros not noticeable on wrist 4) Brushed CP cap also not noticeable on the wrist 5) Great engraved caseback 6) I am a little dubious about the lume being C3 superlume. It dies off far too quick compared to C3. It is definitely better than rep lume but I don't think its C3 7) Lume color for hands match "12" and "6" but not the round hour markers. Mildly apparent. Great stock rubber. Overall, pretty pleased. Wears smaller and thicker than a Luminor Marina case. Great weekend watch. Love it on leather though I'm sure I will wear it on the rubber now and then.
  15. Don't think I've posted this here yet. Just picked it up today from Spinmaster after a good servicing and its good as new. Basically I finally took the plunge and picked this baby up. Am loving how it photographs and wears on the wrist. Many naysayers (still love you guys) said I should go with the 5001 7 day and though I do like its larger size, there is just something about the balanced dial and thin simplicity of the 3714 that is striking. Its an older model 3714 whereby the glass is not double ARed and its got the fish (Pisces) logo rather than the newer Probius motto. Also the dial numerals are flatter and less curved than the newer models. All gen before someone asks Now onto the pics. On the hunt for a new strap and picked up two TWBs after Peter watchacc didn't have exactly what I was looking for.
  16. Orloff is one of my favorite strap makers, and for my two new favorite PAMs, who else would I commission for some lovely new shoes. Presenting his much loved Golden JV and his Vachetta Camello both in 24/24 for my 000s. Perfect for these twins.
  17. I went with the intention to just talk. I went with the intention to find out the price for burnz. I left with, The One 2.6. No regrets! Price increase coming in at the end of the month and from what I understand, the brand is going to transition away from ETA movements and use more Concepto and Anderssan movements which can only mean good things overall for the brand
  18. On my Gringo Pre-V No prizes for where the case came from *hint* Love the overall feel and balanced dial of the 000 in the DLC case. Completely in love with my pair of 000s.
  19. Taka had to re-order custom jigs to get the crystal out. It is quite a b*tch. Not sure on progress as Taka has been out of town these 2 weeks, but will find out once he's back.

  21. He's on RG and sometimes on WC. Think he's on Risti too.
