  1. Exact same functionality as the gen I've handled Very much so. Overhang to me just refers to the overall length of the watch and how the lugs hang over the wrist. Some cases they dont cause they turn down sharply, like say an Omega PO. Or they don't have lugs but due to case + strap design cause there to be a gap as the strap tries to bend downwards (like an AP ROO or HBB). True that in that it isn't a superrep. But for someone to know this watch, they would know its a rep. 99% of the people out there would handle this without a thought in mind. And the gen isn't that far off besides the engraved wordings. The font and style and locations are accurate.
  2. So here is the watch in its full glory from some quick snaps this morning. Was really excited about this piece as I loved the gen and found the concept really well executed. Unfortunately, it just has no love on the wrist. BTW, this is the v2 Wristies on my 6.8" wrists. Pros: - Fairly accurate to gen - 3 piece cage well made with titanium for the cage, SS for the main housing and lug ends - Dial has fantastic 3D depth and presence - Bezel turns accurately as per gen - Lift mechanism works well, stops at what ever angle you hold the watch head at, doesn't flop around - Pushers have a nice "tccchk" pop when used - Lovely looking deployant and correctly replicated - Good weight, not too light, not too heavy and also not very top heavy Cons - Dial print needs to be brighter. Its too muted now - No lume on the dial. Only on hands. Gen has lume all over the bezel, the dial markers and numbers - Dial markers are meant to be metal squares with lume within them - P' engraving on crown is inaccurate though well done. Should be PD - Datewheel font is incorrect - Caseback is incorrectly engraved with 120M when should be 100 ATM - lug ends do not depress as far as gen. Gen has range of movement of about 35deg, rep only up to 15deg - Strap, same as gen unfortunately, for thinner wristed folks, because of the overhang, the straps will open up, they arn't glued to the side of the lugs, but because the gen depresses further, its less obvious, on the rep, the straps will open up and show their connecters and sides. - Strong blue AR, however I've seen gen pics which depict the same, so I can't call this one. I don't think the gen is as strong as the rep, but it definitely has a blue sheen. Overall, the thing that kills it for me is the overhang and strap. Everything else is damn near perfect. It photographs so damn well too!
  3. Thought I'd share the progress. The parts are all DLCed just awaiting the sapphire crystal now. Proto done. Pretty decent, though distortion at the edges was off. New proto being made and we'll see soon
  4. Did anyone ever say the dealers were going to be making a DLC/PVD version of the 286? I've said I've sent mine in to be DLCed and that is almost done, its with the vendor now, but it'll take a while before it comes back to me as I have to wait for the saphire crystals to be made as well. proto is done from what I know.
  5. I've donated my crystal to Taka for him to get some made and coated with his AR. It'll be a while but they are definitely coming.
  6. Not really. Only mod to me is the crystal. Getting it changed to sapphire.
  7. It is close to pretty much spot on for the 286
  8. I'm going to redo the lume on the hands, they are a little too stealth, needs to be a shade lighter I can't see it that clearly now
  9. So this is how the rep came as stock; and here are the steps I took; Disassembled the bezel assembly first to take a look if I could get at the lume triangle; Seems that its actually just a painted metal plate... So scraped it clean. Next was to disassemble the watch and get at the dial and hands. I tried mixing my own "black" lume up, but that failed quite miserably, as such, I've just kept it as it is right now, unlumed. Used Tamiya TS-80 matte spray on the dial then Tamiya flat flat in a very wide spray to get the right shade I wanted and not wash out the words (though a the automatik isn't as clear now though Anyhow, reassembled and here is the finished product, With its other Tempus Hour Glass gen counterpart
  10. I'll give you a call later Am in town for lunch with a friend and free after that, I wanna see that CP!
  11. Home today so decided to take some more pics of this gorgeous watch!
  12. Would love to see that, but my arvo is crazy tomorrow. Damn
  13. Mate, I still want to see your FM! When are you free for a catchup.
  14. Picked this up last week and many thanks to Palani21 for letting me pull out on his franken U1SDR to go for this. As some know, this is the U1 Tempus 2007 Limited Edition of 250 pieces made for The Hour Glass, a Singapore watch retailer. My understanding is that there is a written agreement with Sinn that prevents Sinn from releasing another similar styled U1 as such you have the U2S which is a normal edition, but the U1 is an LE of 250 pieces. Partly why the SDR came about I reckon. Anyhow, its a stunning watch, tegimented case and bezel, PVDed all over including the small butterfly clasp. I personally prefer the larger styled clasp but this will fit better for smaller wristed guys. Only 2 gripes. PVD, it wears. There is some wear on the right side 2nd, the double AR is very susceptible to scratches, there are a whole bunch on it already. Other than that, a real beauty!
  15. Damn I could not get this off my wrist from the time I received it. Absolutely stunning! And a real pain to photograph. Kept on getting a lot of glare coming off the polished edges. Going to retry during the day another time. Right now I'm going to keep it stock, half tempted to get it ARed though it aint true to the gen and also relumed. I now want a Chronopassion!
  16. Speedman: The CD has had everything done to it except the wood caseback mod. Serviced movement, relumed and doubleAR. The bezel construction between the gen and rep are very different, you can feel it when using it. _brian_: There is lume on the bezel for the Ti Chrono, just that its ridiculously weak. The white C1 lumed parts are fine, the yellow parts hardly glow. I actually find the 42mm slightly too small, but ok with a suit. Just got an old IWC Ti GST and that is small, even though its meant to be the same case.
  17. As most know, I sold my LW Hard Black II (this months background) recently to fund my next chapter in life. However, an arbitrage opportunity presented itself in this lovely grey-toned black & yellow beauty. The lovely IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Titanium 371903. Got it at a crazy price and will flip it shortly, but till then, here are some stunning pictures with my modded IWC Aquatimer Cousteau Diver 2006 Wristie on my 6.75" wrists Lume shot 1s exposure Incredibly light. Amazing quality. The bezel construction is different on the gen from the reps, so crisp to turn and use. The movement feels butter smooth and the 7750 wobble is lovely.
  18. Sort of agree, but I rarely take my watch off. And normally that person needs to be really close to see it if its on the table. It only looks bad if its held up close to scrutiny
  19. From my understanding, the Ultimate later versions became stickers as well. Only the initial batches were actual wood. The 5-10 is just overfill of lume. Obvious in shots like above, not at all on the wrist.
  20. Thought I'd share my modded piece Fully relumed by Goin Taka doubleAR Serviced by Speedy All that needs to be done is the wood insert mod and it'll be perfect. As it stands, it gets a lot of looks and a few forum members are jealously eying it already
