further
Hiya all, I am fairly new to the forum and just recently bought my first REP, The Mont Blanc Timewalker Chronograph with Black Dial and SS Bracelet(No pics yet as the watch is on it's way). It has the Asian Valjoux 7750 movement and was woundering what to expect from that movement and if I should Have it serviced right away. I intend to wear the watch regularly. What I have read so far is that the Asian 7750 do not come oiled and setting the date and time will cause the watch to wear prematuraly. This will be my First automatic watch. I currently own 3 citizen Eco Drive watch which I love but are not as classy as the reps can be. Thank you in advance and any tips are welcomed. gran
Sounds like a very good start and good thing your starting with a reasonable movement (and reasonable expectations as well) Myself I started ny repcollection with an surprisingly accurate AP JA with an uncomplicated asian movement with a very low price..still runs but get practically no wrist time the last 5 years Happy timekeeping Gunnar Gran
maxman
Im a huge fan of the Asian 7750. It Is a good Idea to have them serviced after several months of recieving the watch. I have eight reps with the 7750 movement that have not been serviced. They are all keeping good time and I have had no serious problems as of yet. That being said, yes have your 7750 serviced to Insure a long and dependable life. Mike (ps) The MBTW Is a great rep, enjoy.
