swdivad
Just got this case set in from a good friend... It has the 3 screw style lug screws and a nice low bezel... I'm looking for opinions on the CG and the lugs. The CG is flat on top, it doesn't follow the curvature of the case... Is this correct? Or should I be sourcing another CG? What would this suit best: 5218-201A 5218-203A PreV 004 Cheers
Drulee
Was that from a destro, or is the cg just on the wrong way?
swdivad
The CG was installed upside down, although it's just as flat on the bottom. The lever is right in the middle. Were the older Panerais flat on both sides, or did they always follow the curve of the case where the CG is mounted?
babola
Hey Swdivad, please don't take this the wrong way but the case isn't that great fit altogether, IMO. It's cool that it comes with pre-V lug screw setup, but the shape of the lugs isn't good Also, all the sharp edges are rounded. The CG is the one made for normal and destro, it's very thin and flat on both sides (which is wrong) so that you can easily flip it if you want to make a destro. Pre-V CGs came much thicker and with rounded top side that flares upwards from the case out. If you really like this case and would like to use it for your pre-V project, I'd suggest first thing to swap the CG with one of those Toro pre-V CGs he currently has for 45Eur...not a big expenditure and it may just work. Drop me a PM if you wish, I may have another suggestion for you. cheers, b
swdivad
Thanks B!!! That's just what I needed to know before spending big money on a project... Maybe I'll just put a 26A dial in it and get it PVDed... Maybe it will just sit in my drawer of parts

bwhitesox
D I agree with Babola on that case. Most people are getting their cases from getat for about $50 with saphirre glass and these tend to have a bit of a PreV look to them but obviously not perfect. http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do Getat also has asian movements with high cannon pin for about $30. Good luck with the project mate.
