mbjoer Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Following a review by Pix on RWI I bought a Picot in a private sale. My impression of the watch is that it is quite good fun, the movement is great and overall it is very well built. I particularly find the yellow strap a great occational alternative to the usual dive watches. Although it had a pretty good lume when I received it, it has been re-lumed by Domi. But in contrast to Pix I have not had it AR treated as I actually really like the blue tint which I think works really well with the yellow. Domi has also water proofed it, so I can swim with it. The main problem with the watch is the clasp which has a tendency to jump open. Not sure if I can do much about it, so I live with it for now. On to the pictures: Front: Back: Crown and pushers: Clasp: The problematic opening mechanism: Wristie: Wristie with AR showing: In all a great watch, a well made rep and good fun. Great for variety.
cskent69 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 It is a great watch. I have one - my only wish is that I could source a gen dial or a rep one made for a 7753. I would then swap in the right movement and get rid of the sunken datewheel. But, they never made a 7753
Toadtorrent Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Nice pics...and it is a great looking watch. I wonder if it's worth a gen clasp upgrade??
mbjoer Posted April 21, 2010 Author Report Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) I wonder if it's worth a gen clasp upgrade?? I think not to me. The issue is in the can-live-with category and the watch is not one that comes across as a hugely valuable one (like, say, APROO). So I will keep it as it is and probably use it a bit more now that the weather is picking up... Edited April 21, 2010 by mbjoer
