High Cannon Pin without H3 ?

Davidsen used to make thinner dials for years, the ones that wouldn't require H3 cannon pin / hour wheel install as the hands posts will be made artificially higher.

These were primarily base dials, not Marina dials as no matter how thin the dial the hour hand on those would catch against the sub-second hand and ultimately scratch and damage it.

That's the only high cannon pin upgrade alternative that I know of. The capped hands looked a bit off with the "nipple" effect in the middle, which was silly.

If you care about your watches and have attention to detail, only the right way would do it...meaning upgrade to H3 CP and hour wheel, as well as flattening and polishing the CP top.

cheers,

Thanks babola

BTW, is the CP top supposed to be totally flat in gen ? i can't tell for sure looking at pictures.

Correct, mate.

Sometimes light reflection of the polished top surface on some photos would distort the actual flat finish.

cheers,

b
