zbig
FM and genuine dial for fix Edited September 15, 2006 by szumi
none
very very nice! I want one too! btw, they often say FMs are way overprized: one pays easily over 5000 USD (or even 10.000 USD) for a watch that is relatively simple. Anyway, I really like the looks of it. Wrist shot? Edited September 13, 2006 by none

Watchwatcher
From the picture it would appear that the rep is actually very close to the gen, in fact, i'm having a hard time seeing differences. could you maybe give a rundown on what is actually different between the two? thx... actually makes me feel even better about the quality of my own conq (same model with blk face). HauteHippie
This FM Conquistador has always seemed to me to be one of the best out-of-the-box reps available. I'm not sure what kind of bang for the buck the gen dial represents in this instance, but to me, it seems minimal. The rep dial is excellent. The only thing I've ever questioned with this rep (I've bought the ladies version only though) is the case thickness. I'd have to see the gen in person to say for sure, but it seems to me that the reps might be a little on the thick side. jfreeman420
Isn't the genuine supposed to have "king" printed on the dial? It is also a bit bigger.
zbig
Isn't the genuine supposed to have "king" printed on the dial? It is also a bit bigger. This is not King Conquistador. There are man and lady FM
Watchmeister
THe thicknes should be good as it uses the same movement as the gen (2893).
eLiNK
THe thicknes should be good as it uses the same movement as the gen (2893). By 2893, you mean 2892? As to the differences, the main flaw is the size of the crown. the hands are not superlumed.
Chronus
The reason for the genuine dial is that the ring of the date window is slightly different. Otherwise the dial is fine. The crown is slightly off, and I'm not sure about the blued hands.
Watchmeister
I did mean 2892. The fixes on the gen are the date ring as well as the lume. Also if you are going to go to the trouble to put in a gen dial you have to repaint the hands the proper color. The stock blue on the rep is not the proper blue.
