Technically, the 'Tropic' crystals are the crystals without datemag, and the 'Cyclope' crystals are the ones with. However... All Rolex acrylic crystals are termed Tropic as it's just easier to group them all under this description. I do agree though... Tropic does sound very exotic, and very intriguing. The tropic crystal Rolex were highly prized by Livingston type explorers because the crystals had micro pores drilled in them that allowed moisture to escape and prevented crystal fog in super-humid jungle environments.
