For those who have tourby's

I wouldn't exactly call a tourbillon a simple mechanical movement.

Absolutely not! A very well versed watchmaker that has been around for a while could handle it...as they require a even finer degree of attention to make them run properly. I have had the chance to look at them under a loop, but yet to take one apart. Going to let my instructor work on it first, before I attempt.

You have to remember, before the rep/low cost Tourbillion movements, anyone that owned a Gen would just sent it back to the manufacture for service paying $10K+ I am sure.

Sorry, first I thought the topic was about a 6497 like movement in a tourby watchs: Tourbywatches

Yes! you are right, I think a watchsmith has to be a real artisan if he wants to dissemble a tourbillon complication.

If you have a gen, you should get it serviced through the official dealer/factory.

I dont really know what to do with chineese tourbillons.

By the way: if you want to see something special, look at this:Bexei A "one man" watch manufacture in Hungary. /where I live!)
