PunkJr
hi just about to pull the trigger on Davidsen's 1938a and it takes a 26/26 strap. the watch uses and is very similar to a 183 radiomir. do any owners know whether this watch will take a 24/24 band? it looks like it will and i can't see any problems, however i have never seen one of these in the flesh. any help would be much appreciated. tom Edited September 18, 2006 by PunkJr
chris5264
I just ordered mine from Davidsen. This watch looks extremely cool, I was going to get the original 1938a but they are about twice as much for a used one without an exhibition case back, screw down crown or vintage crystal. I can' t say for sure until I get it, but the 183 (same basic size) works with either a 26 or 24. Personally, I think it looks better on a 26 but I'm pretty sure either will look good. Finepics
It will work but there will be a bit of the strap bar showing at each end.
PunkJr
It will work but there will be a bit of the strap bar showing at each end. that's ok, as long as the watch doesn't fall off. btw, anyonw know where to get a nice nato for one of these. say 22 or 24 mm with the old style buckle? Highflyingclive
www.banda will make a strap to any size that you want - in leather. Don't know about NATO straps... personally, I think it would look wrong on this watch. I'd be thinking about well-weathered natural calf. Here is my Radiomir 147 (from Jos Nana) on a custom-made Banda 26 x 22mm dark brown genuine alligator strap. As you can see... it would not be wise to choose a strap that is less than 26mm wide at the lug-wires. The width of the other end depends on the buckle that you want to use. In the last pic, the strap has been photographed on a 5mm x 5mm grid Edited September 18, 2006 by Highflyingclive
