statikman
I started like many of us, getting spammed by fake Rolex ads etc and doing a little digging. Up until then I was a Fossil/ Diesel wearer, and thankfully I found the original RWG before I bought from the scammers. I discovered Panerai, and never did buy a Rolex rep. My first was the terrible first gen 024 with the razor thing crown. Then the good stuff. I won't go into all the models I ended up acquiring, but I had around 20 Pannies, a few Breits and a B&R. I have since sold or given away all my reps and I started buying gens or homages (RXWs and a Debaufre) Oddly enough, the addiction has only gotten worse since buying gens, and I've realized once you crack through a price barrier, all of a sudden you see yourself looking at watches you can't afford but start buying anyway. I am a prefect example of why gen companies shouldn't worry too much about our hobby. I am not against buying more reps and I visit here almost daily, it's just that nothing really speaks to me right now. I don't mod so I need that near-perfect out of the box experience. The rep Graham Swordfish is one I keep eyeing, among a few others. The issue is you when guys review these watches and I pay more attention to the minor flaws rather than how close they got it. On to my collection:
By-Tor
That's an impressive gen collection. They're all gens, right? And you're absolutely right about the gen companies and us... without reps I wouldn't now own my gens and that's a fact. Thanks for sharing! statikman
Really nice collection! Ive had my eye on the Lagunare COSC for a loooooooooong time, never really pulled the trigger (dont know why) - still love it though. Thanks! It took a while to find the Glycine. They don't come up on TZ or WUS too often, so if you want one, snap the next one up. I think there was one listed last week. I have to say it's a great watch with massive wrist presence. I get the most comments on that and the Anonimo.
mad_man_may
So far I have been able to control my watch obsession, but I think like Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde will soon take over!
