statikman Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) Has anyone experienced watches stopping or losing lots of time while on their wrists but operating perfectly when sitting in the box? I am having the issue with an automatic ETA and a 6497. I've never had this problem before but one of the watches was check and rechecked and the maker said there was nothing wrong with it. He replaced the 6497 mvmnt anyway at my insistence. BTW, both are gens. Edited July 18, 2010 by statikman
Rolexman Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 I once had a simular problem and after some investigation I discovered that a very small part of the balance staff tip had broken off. This caused the watch to stop in a certain position as it created a lot of drag. A good watchmaker can find the problem easily.
