johnaphro
Hi all, Thinking to order my first(s) AP ROO but i cannot decide between running@12(cartel) and running@9(MBK/Reg). I have searched the most threads about them,cons/pros,but i cannot decide so please let me kmow your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks in advance
txcollector
I find it silly to have the second running on the wrong subdial. If the subdial @9 showed sec markings (even if incorrect) I'd think it would be better to have the sec running on top of the minute counter subdial. I have the sec@12 serviced and it runs like a champ. Finish wise the two are basically the same (I held them side by side).
johnaphro
Is it clear that sec@12 needs service ?
txcollector
no but recommended if you want to keep it for a long time.
theflyingdutchman
... with secs at 12, you might have a gen like "broken" watch soon... stick with the secs at 9 version at least it is reliable!
johnaphro
I read that the quality, construction of MBW is far better and can it be base for future mods(franken)..
MADRED7
I have some of both models. ....all my sec@12 had to be serviced over the time (costs around 100 EURO). Believe you cannot Franken this case. There are dozends of dial-variations to choose from. ....all my sec@9 run like champs without any issues. Case can be used for Franken-mods. There is only one excellent example of a nice MBW...thats the blueish-grey stick marker dial. Theo
johnaphro
Are there more dial choices with sec@12?
Watchmeister
There are more dial choices with the seconds at 12 and you have correct functionality. Movements are potluck. I am with Theo that you you should plan on getting it serviced if going that route. Seconds at 9 although incorrect functionality (which is a deal killer for me) has better aesthetics. The case profile is more accurate. The date placement is better (even versus the newer seconds at 12 version with the steeper bezel giving the illusion of better date placement). And as people say it is far easier to Franken the seconds at 9. I guess where I would come out if I were going to buy one with no intention to franken I would go with seconds at 12 and get it serviced.
johnaphro
Thank you W Seems tha must go with sec@12 and have decided for the silver themes with hornback strap and deployant.
