Ar Scratch Repairable?

Following a 'boating accident' I ended up with a marked glass on the front of my 005 . The glass itself doesn't appear to be scratched (it shouldn't be being sapphire) rather the AR coating. See below:

Are the marks removable?

At least the accident proved it's waterproof

Yes it's on the outside. I'm a bit unsure about removing all the AR as i'm not sure how the glass will look afterwards. Is there a way of telling if there is AR on the inside?

You don't have a repair option. You have to recoat the whole thing.

I wonder whether the AR -- or, even more, the anti-scratch -- coating can influence the results of the water drop beading test...

I think any coating would affect the test as the test relies upon the water's ability to stick to the crystal.

Better would be the temp. test - check how long it takes for the crystal to change the temp. state. The famous TTK forehead test

Simply leave the watch beside your bed overnight and in the morning touch the crystal to your forehead, sapphire will be noticeably colder than mineral glass.
