White Face Daytona That Does Not Die!

Good luck, they are all crap. Its hard to believe that such a popular watch is also the most unreliable. You might have better luck going with a vintage daytona with a a different movement, but all the new style Daytonas with seconds @ 6 movements are junk. Mine lasted only a couple days before failing completely.

Get the movement serviced and the upper module gears graphited and it should last longer. Then you can do things yourself to make it last longer like hacking/stopping the movement when you're not wearing it (e.g. overnight) and only wearing it say 3 days a week instead of seven. Damage limitation with these basically.

Or you can take the extra 11 (non jewelled) gears out and freeze the second hand subdial so it doesnt move, and get the whole movement properly serviced at the same time. Then you will probably be ok. A lot of watchmakers, that work on replicas, wont even touch these seconds at 6 movements though. The new "improved reliability" version of this movement has only ONE extra pivot jewel, but in general isnt much improved. Your best bet might be to find a preowned one for sale from a member here that is properly working. Thats might save you a few bucks because the servicing of this movement is going to cost you as much as the watch itself.
