mastrmindalliance
Hi! I'm doing the HEV epoxy mod on my older DSSD. After removing the OGEV, there is a white plastic ring that sits between it and the crystal. Sorry for poor pic, and incase its a non- standard i'll describe it a bit... Its not rubbery like a gasket, it's harder like plastic. it doesn't appear to have silicon grease on it atm, but i wonder if it should? Thanks in advance for any advice. Rolexman
It's the crystal retaining ring (nylon) and it does not need grease. It's pressure fitted. Be carefull not to disform it and always put it back the same way it came off (the retaing ring is form fitting, and takes the shape of the crystal when first used). Otherwise you will have a hard time water proofing the watch afterwards.
mastrmindalliance
Thanks Rolexman! I have put it back as it came out, will have it pressure tested. Thanks again!
