oysterboy
Thinking about this one from Lay: Nice - 21J Asian Model (pic from RM) Any advice-- this a good one, or is there a better version/value to be had? He said there is a V1 Noob factory Swiss ETA available that has gotten some good reviews on forums, but I am not sure if that would be the way to go-- it is 2.5x the price, but supposedly a good deal nicer, with fewer tells. I know the ETA's are controversial, but I leaning that way. I only want to buy from someone who QA's as meticulously as Lay does (I know there are several). My alternate, at the moment would be Mary at Watchesinternational, who gets great reviews here, or Hont. But, as a noob, I am open.
oysterboy
Ok I am ready for a reponse now 21 J or ETA? Which would you recommend?
cougaree
I recommend ETA. Even if it's clone movement, the parts (like hands and movement mount...) can be reused when you later decide to install a gen ETA movement. The case is also more accurate to gen in dimensions, which allows you to install a gen dial later... just my opinion.
plaifender
ETA! all the way.. It's worth the difference in price. The problem with the 21j.. is that if it breaks in the future.. you won't be able to replace the movement with a good one. you'll have to get another 21j since the hands for the 21j are different than the eta.
