Citizen eco-drive 200m - Starting to stop at night

Recommended Posts

I have a nice Citizen Eco-Drive that it is at least 10 years old, probably 13 or 15.

It have served me well and i would like to change the accumulator (it is charged by solar light in the front) at a reasonable cost. I have ear high prices for AD changes here in Europe.

Can you recommend a cheap way to buy the battery and to open it?

Thank you

The back of the watch (How can it be opened?) :

Well the case back should unscrew. Looks like it is comprised of the emblem on the back. However, it is difficult to tell without the watch in hand. In may in fact be a front loader too.

As for the capacitor I know you can get them from Ofrei. Which probably means you can get them from cousins too.

Looks like a snap back to me, so a knife should do it. Look for a lip, around the circumference of the back to get a knife under.

And for capacitors-

I know you wont find them cheaper than here- especially with your RWG discount, (if you are registered on the site.)

I believe that it unscrew by the back, but it has no standard holes for tools. You need something that attach to the logo if you have to do it as it should.

To open it i would ask a watch expert.

If i were to open it, i could try some kind of rubber piece pressed to the back and rotate it in the hope that friction would be enough to unscrew it.

I would like to see the "official tool", it sould be curious ....

Thank you for the sources of accumulators
