Prsist Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 ]Just bought a 2 piece Zulu strap for my X-33. In the picture you will see the strap is "hanging in the wind" and drives my OCD batty. I'm not sure what material the strap is made from and don't know if I cut it, if it will "unravel". Can someone enlighten me? I circled the point where I would make the cut
prdubis Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 On Nato straps, you can fold the tail again and block it with one of the keeper. They are made for that. Sorry if I am nit clear. Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk

Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk Being a two-piece it isn't as long as a nato strap. With that said I, at times cannot see the forest for the trees. My mind is on so many others things I missed the obvious. That solves the issue. I still would like to know for my own knowledge if I choose to do so in the future if cutting a zulu strap will cause it to unravel.
djmattm Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 You can cut it, but then with a lighter gently pass over it

asf Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 even though I didnt do a great job at it, I burn the edge that i cut off with a lighter. What I should have done was to let it burn longer to turn more black and flatten with some plyers
dbutlerman Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 This may sound odd, but I cut it square with scissors and then used a bench grinder to shape It. The heat from the grinder snapping also melted the ends enough to keep it from unravelling. You could probably use a dremmel instead.
