I was hoping it may be possible to get a solid gold bezel to replace the rep bezel.

This should be an easy task for any jeweler. I have had many custom pieces made (not watch related). All one would need to do is take the rep bezel, make a wax mold then rubber mold and fill it with gold. Probably wouldn't be too expensive and the same could be done with the gold on the clasp if it can be removed.

good idea, though I've never tried that... and wouldn't know who to ask really ... maybe someone else will try this first, i can't afford to at the moment anyway!
