pam1950
hi, I bought 1 month ago an AP ROO Volcano (sec@12) on rubber strap. I just bought a hornback strap from AP...question is, do I need to buy a conversion kit as well? not really sure what the kit is for, so even if it's a newbie Q, I prefer to ask ;-) thanks! hiker01
You mean AP AP or AP Bands? If I remember correctly, you will have some problem fitting it in. I had to file some off the case side tip to fit it in. Good luck!
pam1950
sorry, I meant AP BANDS...so, it sounds like I need the kit, right? You mean AP AP or AP Bands? hiker01
Not really, if you are handy with a buffing tool.......I'm not sure if the conversion kit would help. You have to remember, AP BANDs straps are made to fit the GEN!

buckeye
I don't think you need the conversion kit if you have the rubber strap. The kit contains the 4 plots (the little metal things-2 per side) the case screws and the long screw and cap the connect the strap to the plots. You should have these already. You'll just have to unscrew the long screw that connects the band to the plots on each side and remove the rubber strap. Of course you'll need to see if the deployant fits. Otherwise you'll need a buckle. Hope this is clear

Breitfuture
I changed straps on mine as well to AP bands. NO conversion needed No buffing or filing. The plots already fit the watch. Obvious since it came on it. Its just a matter of replacing with the new strap.
chronoluvvv
good to hear I'm faced with a similar issue my Survivor came on rep rubber and i absolutely hated it so I procured a rep leather strap from another AP (Rubens i think) turns out the leather bound Rubens uses thinner connectors to the case than the rubber clad ones on the Survivor I'm wondering if I should try & file the leather strap to make it fit, is that even a possibility ?
