cougaree Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Guys, These are what came with my watch. To make installation easier, they are filed with point tips. Anyone know where I can get a new pair?
1976 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Only if the dealer you got it from can source you a pair, otherwise it is very difficult to source them.I was at your place once and end up using a set off 26mm spring bars.
cougaree Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 I see. Thanks! I have contacted the dealer this morning, and he said he could get me a new set during my next purchase. Unfortunately, my next purchase won't occur until end of this month (the watch is not yet available), so hopefully he won't forget later.
mrboombasteke Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I'm confused. What's wrong with your set? And how did it happen?
cougaree Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 They shouldn't be shaped like a needle. The rep assemblers did this so they can put the strap on easier. Unfortunately they didn't leave me any threads.
mrboombasteke Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 ahhh...i see that now. i'm now curious if mine look like that.
cougaree Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Anyone know where I can locate a Cartier AD in Cont US?
mrboombasteke Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Just go on the Cartier website and search for one. http://www.cartier.us/#/boutiques
cougaree Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Called the AD. I really didn't think a set of strap bars can be any problems, but the lady on the phone told me they didn't have anything (frankly I didn't think she knew what I was talking about) and asked me to send the watch in to Cartier and wait for 6-7 weeks. Wow!
mrboombasteke Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I bet if you order a strap, they'll throw it in. Since I'm sure you don't want to take it in, you could just say it's a surprise birthday gift for your brother/father. You know what...I'll call my AD and see if he has them in stock or can get them.
cougaree Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 I saw the genuine straps for sale online, they don't come with the strap bars. I don't personally think it's just me needing replacement for these bars. The lady on the other end of the phone was really clueless. It's kind of sad having someone selling stuff he/she does not know anything about. I guess having someone pay top dollars on a watch but does not know anything about watches is way worse. Thanks for calling your AD for me. I really appreciate it! The watch strap is 23mm wide, so strap bars should be a little bit longer than 23mm.
mastrmindalliance Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Hey, the AD will useless with this kind of stuff. Contact Richemont.
mastrmindalliance Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Oh sorry, yes Richemont. They are the guys who supply parts for and service Cartier amongst many other brands. For genuine parts except for straps (but even buckles and etc) you or the AD always have to go through the service centre. http://www.richemont.com/
cougaree Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 There is no other way, huh? Looks like they have an office in NYC. Have you worked with them before?
mastrmindalliance Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Yes, in both Singapore and Australia (for an IWC). They are very good and very professional - totally unlike the AD.
cougaree Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 What do I say to them? Thanks again!
mastrmindalliance Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 First, find out what the real model name for your Cartier is - what the ADs call it - just in case the rep is known differently (like "UPO" or "swissfish" hehe). Then call them on the phone - i find calling better than emailing - and say you need new spring bars for your 'Cartier Santos 100' for eg. The only time i've ever been asked for a Serial number is when i was ordering a new boxset, so you shouldn't need it for spring bars. That may vary from to brand policy though... good luck! Edit: you need to call the customer service number, not any of the others.
cougaree Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 On their website, there is no phone number listed I can call.
bobbyrutgers Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 bump for phone # contact info I've searched all over that website and can't find it. any advice please?
