Are gen dials and hands the only options? Does anyone make nice rep parts for the EP movement?

How about getting a wrecked gen dial and getting it refinished by Kirk dial? Has anyone tried going that route?

I could never justify paying much more than $3k that for a Franken. I'd just pay the price for a gen and know that it will retain its value in the future.

I used 100% gen parts in mine, apart from movement which was a NOS EBEL 134 (El Primero 400) and ended up at around $6.5k all in.

But what is the point of runing a Franken that already cost you some serious thousands of usd with a bad redial or aftermarket dial?

Gen Rolex parts are expensive but the result is worth it! Sometimes I miss this watch, maybe now I'd be able to deal with these hands somehow.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "bad." Is a refinished dial that bad? Does no one make good quality aftermarket 16520 dials and hands?

Ive never really seen any aftermarket 16520 dials or other parts. WO990 has 16520 bezels and pushers. Dials come up on ebay once in a while but you will have to look to find a wrecked one. I assume most people would send the watch to Rolex to get a new dial installed since there isnt much avail in the aftermarket.

BTW, not too bad a price on the dial and hands set. The center seconds hand is of the variety that will absolutely not take well to crimping, so get the gen pinion for that one for sure. I paid about $500 for the same dial with hands, of which only 1 hand turned out to be usable.
