OK here it goes... I finally received my gen Tropic #39 super-duper dome... this one is soooo cool...

From left to right: Gen vintage #39 superdome (150$), regular MBW tropic (comes with the watch), gen #39 normal dome (105$), Heflands #39 flat but with a custom made bevel (9$ + some work), regular Heflands #39 (9$). You definitely see the difference... You decide whether its worth the difference in money.

Here you see how I made a bevel in the middle one (at the top) to look like the gen flat.

Excellent comparison & nice photos! Thanks for posting this.

I believe Hefland had or perhaps has, a generic T-39 superdome that looked very good on Nanuq's 1665. If still available, it is a killer crystal at a low cost. Perhaps Bob will come along and post a pic of the crystal installed.
