A few questions about mods for 236 Daylight

Hi all,

Got a few questions I was hoping you PAM experts might be able to help me out with (I'm not a noob, but more of a Breitling fan so PAMs new to me):

I'm looking to get my 236 daylight re-lumed, but I wasn't sure what lume mix they use on this watch? C1+C3? Any idea guys? Also, I'm looking for someone I can trust to do a good re-lume job for me that is based in the EU? I would send to Vac, but he not EU. I was contemplating Domi, but wasnt sure how good his lume work was, and whether he can source the right lume. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Last question is whether anyone knew whether it was possible to transplant a gen 7753 and maintain the correct date wheel?

As always guys, I am forever in your debt for your good advice :)

C.

I haven't owned a gen 236 but have owned a couple other gen daylights and they were all C-3. Someone else can confirm on the 236 specifically. The good thing about the later daylights is that the dials are not nearly as difficult to lume as the legendary 196 - in my eyes still the asset test of lume competency. :D

Cheers guys. I'll need to find out whether the movement will need to have the H3 setup because the thickness of the watch, dial etc. Gonna ask Domi me thinks.

Talking of movements, seen a few posts for people trying to get the 6497-2 movement for their 005s. Really tempted to buy one of the 005Ks, but with ETA recently limiting availability, might prove a pain in the ass to get one. Anyone had any luck to date?

erm. If you plan a gen 7753 movement you'll need a new datewheel.

And same goes for changing the fitted datewheel on the A7753.

I believe in the original reviews when these came out, it was identified that the datewindow in the A7753 is slightly differently positioned to the real 7753 movement models.

The datewheel in the A7753 has a different diameter.

So you can't use a gen 7753 with the A7753 model dial as the datewheel won't align in the window.

I think The Zigmeister's (and other's) reviews all talked about this.

Could be wrong.......
