Omega DeVille Co-Axial Chronometer?

Recommended Posts

Browsing through the official Omega site and stumbled on these beauties, but can't find them anywhere on any dealer's sites. I've got Josh looking into it now for me, but it doesn't sound good - at best he thinks he may have them but only with a 2813 movement.

Has anyone seen reps of these about?

Or maybe it's time I modded my first watch and swapped out the movement?! Would it be possible to swap a 2813 for a higher beat?

Comparison of selected 11.5''' movements for interchangeability update (February 2011)

I am starting this third thread for the same topic discussed a few months ago for easy reference. Thinking of a watch project I struggled to understand the technical details for the various commonly used Chinese and Swiss movements.

With the help and encouragement of the Chinese Mechanical watches forum users I have now finished compiling a tech spec sheet for easy reference.

Please let me know should you spot any erroneous info and I am happy to change and upload a new pdf file. Latest version as of February 18, 2011 is v2.

(To allow for keyword searching within WUS and the WWW here the main concepts of the pdf file: movement diameter, movement height, stem height, hand size, dial feet position, beat frequency, Miyota, Hangzhou, Nanning, Dixmont Guangzhou, Seagull, Shanghai watch factory, ETA)

Thanks for adding to the library gifgy!

The DG2813 beats at 21600. The equivalent version beating at 28800 is the DG4813 (Ofrei) and DG8413 (Cousins, wrong name in this webpage). The DG2813 is very cheap: $15.40 at Ofrei, 4.95 at Cousins.

Thanks Gran, a tonne of info there.

The 2813 and 4813 have quite a few differences according to that spec sheet. How would I compensate for the ~1mm height difference? Also the middle (minute?) hands are 152 on the 4813, up 2 from the 2813. Will the hands be transferrable?

Apologies for the questions, I've never thought about playing about with the innards before, there's a lot that goes into one of these watches!

EDIT: fantastic, looks like it's a drop in replacement for the 28 :)

i just provide info..others may act upon it

and yes these movemenst are not identical so if it truly is a drop in or will work as one in your case or not we have to ask The Zigmeister or the like that actully do know these things
