bkdc Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 (edited) After ruining two Panerai dials, I've gotten pretty good at luming. I use Scotch tape to delineate my longer straight edges to protect against overruns. I remove the tape immediately while the lume is still wet. If it starts drying, it leaves an irregular edge. I was bored, so I thought I'd post pics. Obviously, the lume doesn't glow this brightly. I overexposed the lume pic. The lume edges look slightly irregular in the photos but part of that is due to reflections. To the naked eye even at ultraclose inspection, it looks perfect. Excuse the dust on the crystal. robertk Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Very nice. Great to see it came out fine.
HauteHippie Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 A commendable job! Mine is on its way to The Zigmeister, because I leave this stuff to the master himself.
Watchmeister Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Great job. I am wearing mine as we speak (having already been to Ziggy) and it makes a huge difference.
bkdc Posted October 12, 2006 Author Report Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks guys! Here's a better closeup of the details. I'll post my Panerai pics soon with my Scotch tape method.
NaviChief Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Great watch! Congrats on having steady hands.
