marcoxxx1984 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Hi guys I am thinking about purchasing my first Pam and I'd like to get one sub, preferably in titanium What do you think about DSN 106 and 170? What are the main flaws?? Are there better sub for that price range (400 usd max)...?????
SERGEANT_AT_ARMS Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 The problem with the Davidsen subs is the case. There are major problems with the profile of the lugs, the shape of the case and the position of the stem. If you care about accuracy, look elsewhere. However, if your more interested in just having a great looking sub both the 106 & 170 are very attractive options. If your strictly looking for accuracy, the 199 Ultimate is probably your best bet. It just doesn't have the wrist presence of the 106/170. The Arktos models are also pretty accurate, with minimal work and theyre great looking subs to boot.
marcoxxx1984 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Oh thanks a lot! Another one question: are there titanium versions well replicated??
prdubis Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I didn't know DSN was selling a 106 and a 170 where did you see them?
prdubis Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Just had a look at them, they are not in his Photobucket... They don't look good ad all compared to gen (((
SERGEANT_AT_ARMS Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Oh thanks a lot! Another one question: are there titanium versions well replicated?? With the exception of the case which is very poorly done (as stated above) I would say the rest of the watch is not too bad. There is currently no well repped titanium Panerai submersibles. Also, just so you are aware, there has been much talk about an ultimate 187 rep (47mm stainless steel) showing up some time in the near future but so far it hasn't panned out.
marcoxxx1984 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Ok thank you my friends! I think I will change my plan with a 288k, I've heard it's the best out of the box Pam
