Olivax
Hello, Does anyone has ever build a 1680 using the DW Case Set? Is the dial any good? What are the flaws? Does an ETA 2824 fits good with a spacer ring?
lhooq
This thread is over a year old, but there are comments about some of DW's non-chrono cases.

Olivax
Thanks guys for that information. So what would be the best solution if I want to use gen plexi, gen insert and gen crown/tube? What is the best rep dial?
Star69
Thanks guys for that information. So what would be the best solution if I want to use gen plexi, gen insert and gen crown/tube? What is the best rep dial? MBW 1680 = best base , needs new insert, crown + tube, CG shave prob new bracelet too (solid middle links) Josh 1680 = saves a lot $$ - needs only new crown and tube and CG work - but the CGs are a little too short. ... ther are tons of other differences - like Joshs has a nice datewheel not overlay - the MBW has a fake singer dial, but cut off dial feets - both are 1:1 constructed - but the MBW - at least the older ones are 5513 cases = gen 1680 does not fit without shaving ... i whould stay away from the PT 1680 version - its not in the same league ... cheers, Frank (lug-holes + slow beat movement whould be a nice extra on both dials are okay on both imho)
