Dan308
Hey guys I need some help. I have a 5 year old Yachtmaster that will not run reliably. I wear this about 3 times a week and have it on the winder when not on the wrist. Now it will not run. I took the back off and it is a 2836-2 movement. Do you think it can be fixed cheaply? Would it be worth it? should I buy a new one? I'd really like to hear some opinions.
sneed12
You can either have it serviced or drop in a new movement. Either can be done for $100 or less.
Dan308
where is the best place to get the new movement? Could an idiot like me install it? LOL
sander
where is the best place to get the new movement? Could an idiot like me install it? LOL No sorry man, I don't think you can. If you ask the question "my stopped, what should I do?" you certainly can't install a new movement. I would have it serviced if I were you. Dan308
I think having it serviced at a repair shop would present 2 problems. One being the cost, probably $100. I could buy a new one for about $280. The other being it's not a real Yachtmaster, they might not like to repair clones. I was looking for a quick drop in replacement on the cheap since this is really a watch that is worn.
DemonSlayer
I would get it serviced over buying a new movement, you will have to pay a watchmaker to install the movement anyway (unless you are skilled enough to do it yourself).
Dan308
I just took the movement out of a non working watch I had. I had no problem. Where to get a 2836-3 or a 2813-2 movement?
