chris5264 Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 While year 9 doesn’t have the same impact of next year I thought I would do something that might make all the time I spend on watches pay off at least a little. This is the basic watch that comes with the first timezone class with a basic case for the 2801. I sanded down the dial and used some textured black paint which I think turned out pretty well. I was going for something like a movado look but with something unique to it. She wants silver hands, which I will get soon and replace, but overall I think it looks interesting. And it has the first movement that I put back together sucessfully.
NRG Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Just an idea, how about putting some Lume markers in? Say at 12, 3, 6 and 9....
Pugwash Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Just an idea, how about putting some Lume markers in? Say at 12, 3, 6 and 9.... I'd suggest this would destroy the simplicity of the design.
Alextor Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 I'd suggest this would destroy the simplicity of the design. Agreed...maybe just a diamond at 12 O'clock...but that would be to movadish? You put that together for her...that has much more value! congratulations
chris5264 Posted October 15, 2006 Author Report Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks,,,,,,I considered a few things as markers,,,and certainly the idea of a single diamond at the 12 but she wants it really simple. And I wouldn't want to be accused of making a replica

Linder Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 This is a really neat project. Can't wait to see the final pics!
