hackR Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Have a chrono avenger with a7750 6-9-12 movement...on occassion, when I hack the movement to sync the time, set the time or set the date - when I push the crown all in, the seconds, run but the minute/hour hands get “stuck"....I then pull the crown out, reset or move the hands, then eventually they "engage"....it's intermittent...have had this also happen on a previous skyland... The secs at 9 run, so it's not the hack lever...any ideas?...anyone else have this problem? Thanks...R
UnknownWatchmaker Posted June 12, 2016 Report Posted June 12, 2016 Old thread, but I am having a similar issue on a PAM 438 with the seconds hand at 9. It was initially sticking at 11:02 for the first day, and after letting the spring discharge, it is now sticking at 5:24. The interesting thing is that when you unscrew the crown and manually move the hands, there is a slightly increased resistance as you push the hands to 5:25, but becomes normal immediately thereafter. I imagine it is something physically in the gears. I am going to try blow some air through the case tomorrow and see if anything will dislodge. Anyone with a similar issue? Any known fixes?
SSTEEL Posted June 12, 2016 Report Posted June 12, 2016 Sounds like there is a void between the underside of the dial and the movement. Usually there is a spring washer fitted to the hour pinion to stop these gears coming loose.
