stac Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 I've got a 1016 from Andrew (Trusty) that needs a new crystal. I've got a Tropic 22 from Clarks on the way. Will it fit?? I'm keeping my fingers crossed
lhooq Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no, it won't fit. Both the inner and outer diameters of a T22 are too wide for the common rep Datejust, which is what the Trusty 1016 is based on. Your best bet is to find an aftermarket Tropic 19 with a similar profile to either the domed or beveled T22. Then, trim the base by 1-2mm so that the crystal isn't so tall relative to the case. Finally, you will probably still need to trim the crystal's OD to get it to fit within the bezel. The above is also true of MBW/MBK 1016s, from what I know.
