bonecollector Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I've been haunting all the forums with this question - I need to replace the stripped crown/tube on my SMP Chrono. I was thinking gen for a while, but every repair guy on the forums I've contacted told me that a gen may or may not fit. I'd prefer to source a rep crown/tube somewhere so that I don't spend money on the gen crown and tube and then find out they could not be installed. It appears speedy would do it with rep crown/tube, but his turnaround time is something like three months. Any other suggestions? Thanks
KenD Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 The crown and tube for the SMP chrono are for Omega case number: 178.0514 You can install the Omega parts in the rep. the part numbers you'd need are as follows: Crown: OME-ST42154 Crown tube: 090ST1237 Ofrei has both of these in stock. The crown is $49. The tube is $12.20.

FxrAndy Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 I installed a gen crown and tube in a rep seamaster case just the other week with out problems, and at least if you go the gen way they will last and you wont be asking the same questions in a year
