  1. The crown and tube for the SMP chrono are for Omega case number: 178.0514 You can install the Omega parts in the rep. the part numbers you'd need are as follows: Crown: OME-ST42154 Crown tube: 090ST1237 Ofrei has both of these in stock. The crown is $49. The tube is $12.20.
  2. Vac, Any chance you could sell me a stem and crown for a 45.5mm UPO with Asian ETA copy? I broke off my stem. --Ken
  3. Awesome tutorial... I have a watch - a UPO 45.5 in fact that has a keyless problem, so this could not have been more timely. Thank you for sharing this!
  4. Sellita makes drop in replacements for pretty much all of the commonly used movements in the reps we buy... A7750 is a 3 to 5 year movement I've found, even if it's serviced. I would like to replace the broken A7750 in my favorite Omega SMP Chrono rep with a Sellita SW500 - which is a drop in replacement for the ETA 7750 movement. Does anyone know where to source one? ==Ken
  5. Definitely watching this thread. I like the 42mm a lot better - the 45.5 is just a bit big I think. Keep us posted.
  6. Well, it finally happened. The crown/tube stripped out on my Omega SMP Chrono (my favorite watch). How much would it cost me to get that repaired? The rest of the watch is pretty scratched up - but I'm okay with that. I just want it to work. --Ken
  7. Maybe a wrist shot tomorrow!!! Inbound Out of Customs, July 12, 2010, 1:45 pm Inbound Into Customs Inbound International Arrival, July 11, 2010, 7:05 pm, ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS) Foreign International Dispatch, July 09, 2010, 11:18 pm, GUANGZHOU EMS, CHINA PEOPLES REP Foreign Acceptance, July 09, 2010, 7:11 pm Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
  8. Agreed... I'd love to know if this works myself. It would allow me to "resurrect" a few of my favorite reps that died untimely A7750 deaths. If anyone knows if this will work - let us know? --Ken
  9. OK - so I stop the movement using the hack function at 12 midnight (date should change), make sure all the hands align, and press on the second hand facing the 12 O'clock marker. Got it. Thanks. --Ken
  10. I kept the little pieces of lume that fell out of the markers. I'm going to try to reattach them with a tiny bit of model glue and see if that works. The markers themselves that fell off still have the lume attached to them - but there are a couple markers that don't have lume in them anymore because it fell out. The watch works though - so that's a good thing. P.S. - How do I know if I got the second hand on in the right spot?
  11. I followed "Edge's" guide and was able to get the hands back on. The watch works now. It turns out that the markers (6 and 9) themselves didn't fall off the dial, the lume material that is in the markers fell off and was rattling around in there - which was making the watch stop. So I removed the pieces of luminous material, and put it back together. It seems to be running fine now. How do you replace the lume material? --Ken
  12. It's a 2006 model with an brass ETA movement inside. It came from Andrew. Seems to be functional except I have no idea how to put the hands and the markers back on.
  13. The hands and one of the dial markers fell off when the watch was kept in a winder. Seems the vibration was too much for whatever glue was holding everything on. I have no experience fixing watches - need some help? --Ken
  14. He did the comparison using the version of this watch that contains the Asian 21J movement as opposed to the nicer movement that actually runs at 28800. Also, a lot of the noted shortcomings seem to be missing in the latest version of the reps. The AR coating can be removed from the outside of the crystal on the rep really easily,,,
