H factory rubber strap

Cats

Recommended Posts

I have been wearing the rubber H factory strap on my PAM for the last

few days and noticed that the black vanilla smelling rubber get's a little white grayish color

over the black color. The rubber straps i had before were more plastic like and had a deep

black color and a kind of shiny finish.

I was wondering could i achieve the shiny effect and getting rid of the discolration towards a little grayish hue

over the strap by giving it a good bad in baby oil or something like that.

Any suggestions ??

Thanks in advance.

I've got no clue on how to help H-factory rubbers...

But on some other reps that I've with rubber straps, just a "bath" in warm(ish) slightly soapy water, while maybe brushing the strap with an old tooth brush for removing the grime, worked wonder to "revive" a strap that was showing signs of going south... Without killing the vanilla smell, quite the opposit...

Thanks guys for your reply.

I will give it a try first boiling it and then cleaning it.

I think i must have been a bit more specific.

What i would like to achieve is that it gets a dark black shiny tone like i had on several other

black Panerai straps i owned before.

Just boiled and cleaned it ans soaked it in baby oil.

Funny the baby oil is absorbt by the strap.

I will wear it a few days and see what happens to the strap if the finish stays the same.

One i got , bought it second hand , has the vanilla smell.

The one that came on my 005K doesn't smell like vanilla.

The problem that i have with both that they get dusty and grayish after some time while wearing them.

By the way do the gen rubber straps have a glossy/shiny or a matt finish
