I am very bored this morning at work

Hi Everyone.

Nearly end of week and I completed a few projects which has left me with not much to do.

I really want to discuss some random watches and hope a few of you like to participate.

The new Breitling Abyss watch

We have all seen this watch now and the rep seems to be quite the killer. I love the fact that you can have different inner bezel ring colours. I am quite drawn to the black ring because I am afraid that I may get bored with a more funkier colour. Am I stupid? What is your experience with this badboy?

AP Divers V2

It looks a.m.a.z.i.n.g. but when I tried the gen on, the watch sat VERY large on my wrist. As in the lugs just stretched way out of the wrist area. Those with similar experiences, have you gotten used to this?

Pam 359/312

Great replications as we all know. Minor issues here and there maybe, but nothing to worry about. I want to pull the trigger but there are too many other Pams to choose from. I hear the 000 Logo is coming soon and will be similarly priced of course. I have the 177M which is awesome, but should I go for an automatic? Should I wait for the Logo? (get both will be the answer probably, but the money keeps flying out :p)

Rolex Milgauss

I recently sold my green glass Milgy to a good friend. I don't know why I did that. I am actually feeling the white dial for some reason. It is not loved very much but the rep is awesome and something about the love/hate dial that intrigues me. I like the underdog and this seems to be the one. Any pics that you may have?

Thanks for listening :)

Not a huge fan of Breitling my self, my wristsize is way to small to accommendate these huge cases and for my taste there's too much going on with the dial. In other words it is too cluttererd.

I completely agree it is a stunning watch to behold in all its simplicity, again though as stated above I fail to wear these huge watches.

Now here's a brand I can get behind and support. Got a 176M TI my self, awesome watch, love the manual wind on it. Also have a 286J auto, works flawlessly after a proper service, but it is a keeper. And I know what you mean by "there's too many PAM's to chose from", it is like walking into the proverbial minefield. I am seriously contemplating a 177M myself and the new 187 Sub. As for the automatic, never steered me wrong once yet, knock on wood, and I have quite a few - 7750 Valjoux reps lying around.

Whoops sorry I haven't answered your question. Yup, I got used to my ROO almost immediately. It's a nice feeling, can't really describe it. But yeah, u won't go wrong with a ROO

Thanks Audace, I haven't measured my wrist yet but it's big enough to pull of a Pam comfortably but somehow lacks that extra something something for those crazy AP lugs. I may borrow the diver of somebody for a week and see what happens :)

Hi MSK.

That Breitling certainly is an either love it or hate it watch. You will be surprised how "small" that version is though. Only 42 mm, but then again this would amplify your thoughts on how cluttered the dial is. I may hold out a little on this one and wait until a very good deal comes up for it.

I should probably borrow the AP for a bit and see how comfortable I feel with it. It's such a shame that I have to do this, because it really is such a nice simplistic watch. They did well with it for sure.

Oh and get yourself that 177M. It is so well replicated. And just before I started writing this, I saw that the Ti version of the 312 will be coming out too. It has a brown dial and gold hands. It looks so stunning. If it indeed comes out and has gen-like hands and the colour of the dial is right, I will whip out my wallet.

......well albeit being 42mm it is still a Breitling, it simply does not relate to me in anyway. I think the max I can wear is 44mm actually, even then it is starting to look stupid.

MSK =))

I have the v.1. and v.2. AP ROO Diver and the v.2. is MUCH shorter on your wrist. According to my caliper, v.1. is 15.23mm and v.2. is 13.00mm. As you all know, 2mm makes a HUGE difference in wristwatches. I wouldn't call v.2. "flat" (like I would a PP Nautilus) but it sits MUCH lower on the wrist. I have ordinary sized (7.5") wrists and it sits very comfortably on my right wrist (but not my left unfortunately) because of the spacing of the holes in the strap- on the left, it's either too tight or too loose and this is also true of my AP Chronopassion which I have on an AP Straps strap. The crowns on v.2. are much much larger and far more accurate to the gen. I bought the v.1. about six months ago to get a feel for the watch and while I really loved it, I couldn't get used to the smaller crowns, the thick case, and the fact that the rotating bezel lacked a screw down crown, didn't ratchet and would rotate in both directions (I know- three strikes too many). V.2. is a whole different story though and I highly recommend it.

@maxman I was at work :p, couldn't watch porn there.

@farmer I am just going to order it lol... don't care. If it's bad, I can sell it :)

@griffith I genuinely think it's a superep. People just don't like it, but I think I actually do

:p
