redwatch Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Haven't looked at this, but in anticipation of my 7032 dial, movement & hands coming in from Ziggy, I am wondering how hard it is to remove the bezel off of the DW 7032 case? I would like to brush the bezel as well as age the case a little bit. On the gen, what is the direction of the brush pattern? Is it circular or does it go like a sunburst, from center outwards? Thanks!
modelizer Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Dunno how hard it is to get the bezel off the 7032, but I can't imagine it being a problem when using a good case knife. However, the brush pattern direction I do know - they are circular on the gen..
redwatch Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 Thanks! I hope the bezel isn't too hard to remove
ubiquitous Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 You need a decent case knife to remove the bezel. And here's a gen bezel for reference:
redwatch Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 Thanks R! Would something like this also work?
ubiquitous Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Probably. Just remember to mask off the lugs...
redwatch Posted July 1, 2012 Author Report Posted July 1, 2012 What did you use to get the brush finish? Check out this thread here. I described how I did it:
gplracer Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Thanks for the link. I looked but did not see it. I knew it was here somewhere.
MacTavish Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 You need a decent case knife to remove the bezel. And here's a gen bezel for reference: Ubi what are the specs of your 7032? Phong?
gplracer Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 I had to figure a way to put a brush finish on mine. I came up with the following: pencil-tennis grip-drill
redwatch Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 Bravo!!! That's a brilliant way to go about it! What did you use for the brushing?
Ephry73 Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Good man GP. Told ya the drill at low speed would work. BTW, this method also works great to polish sub bezels
