15300 vs 15202 comparo

First of all, big thanks to JAMDOT for letting me borrow his 1:1 15300 to compare and take bracelet measurements against my MBW 15202.

Thank you, JAMDOT!

Now off to my pics and notes:

the MBW 15202. note the large white gold screws. could be more recessed though, IMO.

the 1:1 15300. nicely recessed screws. but a bit smaller than it ought to be, I think.

compare them to the gens here. Note how the AP logo is incorrect on our reps.

I prefer the 15300 butterfly clasp, however, compared to that of the 15202.

The thickness is the same on both as measured by my digital caliper. note that the 15202 bezel is closer to the case but the caseback is a bit thicker.

The 15300 has a thicker gasket that lifts the bezel a bit. But the caseback is thinner though.

Note the differences on the bevel angle on the bezels.

The two jumbos side by side. they measure the SAME, even though dealers list one as 39mm and 40.5mm

What to choose? It's a personal choice - one with seconds hand and the other without. Both have visible flaws that a Royal Oak WIS will spot.

I wish our dealers can combine the virtues of both and come up with a SUPER REP in the end.

One can only wish.....

I had both the gen 15300 and rep 15300. The real deal is light years away from the rep with regards to finishing and the most important part of the watch - the 8 white gold screws. The price is also a huge difference between the two and with that said if you're really after the 15300 start saving the beer money and spend it on the watch. I had to sell the gen off to make way for postgrad education... :(
