Sherrington Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Don't know what you guys think, but the dial on this 1680 looks like a MBW dial to me. Or is it my old eyes!!! 1680
Jetsons Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 i believe your "old eyes" are correcto mundo! I hope that chap wasn't taken to the cleaners on this one. Gen red letter subs can bring a princely sum. Hopefully, the rest of the watch and paper work are legit.

By-Tor Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 This is what "Clifton" writes: "They are not the same. I know there are a lot of Red Sub variations, but that dial on your Sub just does not look right to me. Any information on it you wish to share? Shot of the Ref# and/or partial serial? I hope I'm wrong, but several things just are not right." I've seen this guy calling out reps on TZ and WUS before. I'm 99% sure he reads this forum and is aware of the high-end reps. They don't identify the case as rep, but I suspect that watch is a modified MBW 1680. What do you think?
By-Tor Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...29959&rid=0 Yes...definitely a potential scam alert!!!
gillorin Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Well it's pretty clean for a 1680 and I am 100% sure that's an MBW dial. Also the fact he states he got it overhauled and Rolex won't give him a copy of the report is a bizarre thing to mention.
