Hope they are better than the last crappy ones done by ubi and his gang. They were absolutely awfull. If they are any good I would have 2. Would have to see the quality first. Don't want to be ripped off again!!
Hi Guys,
Just aquired a MBW 6541 from Reg but would like a better insert. Don't want to replace the bezel, I just require the best available, correct, insert to fit the existing MBW bezel. Where to buy one from???
I agree with you on that score. Geordie land is the coldest place on earth, even Nanuq would be at home there. Lancashire isn't much warmer although it's a lot wetter!!!!!
I have seen and handled plenty. It's obvious from your comments that you haven't. As freddy says it depends on the way the light throws shadows on the date window. If you look through a loupe and directly over the top in diffused light then they are perfectly centred.
You probably know my opinion already!! I much prefer the rounded 3 datewheel, mainly because it's more accurate, much better printing and perfectly centred on every number (just like my Luenfat datewheel). I agree that the first thing that stands out a mile is a poorly centred date which screams "REP".
Great job, Avitt. Nice to see the CORRECT numbered endlinks. They should be 585's and not 580's as some other members have on theirs. Correct numbered bracelet as well, I see.
Well I think some members here won't like my reply but for what it's worth here it is:-
I received 2 datewheels today, as ordered. As soon as I opened them I realised they are printed onto paper and not metal. I put one on an old Eta datewheel I had and installed it into my 1680. When I looked through the cyclops I was very disappointed. The edges of all the numbers were blurred and jagged due to ink bleeding into the paper. You just don't get this the same on a vintage genuine metal datewheel. The watch looks....well fake. I contacted one of the Watchmeisters only to be told they would only refund the unused one even though the only way to find out they were not good enough was to fit one into a watch. Maybe you can just about get away with installing one into a 1665 with no cyclops but not a 1680 Sub.
So maybe I lose out on $30 but that's life, I suppose.
