  1. Anything between $80-100 is about the right price. My RSC contact gets them for $90 approx.
  2. Fantastic renovation Rob. You should be proud of that. For bracelets try Andy at www.timeman.net or they do come up from time to time on the Vintage Rolex Forum (let me know if you need the address)
  3. Why don't you cut them off and just use double sided tape to fix the dial to the movement?
  4. Is that a real Xmas tree, Reg...or a rep one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Merry Xmas
  5. I'm with By-Tor on this one. The sections over on TRC are much easier to follow, and find. The gen forums operate this way as well. Time for a tweak I think.
  6. Depends what you want out of your watch. Fitting a VJ23 into the existing DW case is the preferable option as it is a much more reliable movement. However like the DW movement it is a bi-compax movement ie only two working chrono dials. There is no hour chrono dial on a VJ23. For that you will need a VJ72 and then a case to take the movement, new hands etc. Personally I serviced my DW movement myself and it seems reliable, albeit not very well constructed. The hands reset perfectly but I still don't use the chrono function, as I don't trust it's longevity. The VJ23, just like the DW, is a manual movement. So was the movement in the Genuine watch as well. You pays your money and you take your chances, so to speak.
  7. Fantastic pair of Subs and, as Ubi says, well under rated at the moment. Buy now while you can!!!
  8. Mmmm...What have we here? Twins? Notice the The Zigmeister Vintage Lume job. Only glows weakly for about 15 mins but very realistic. Better pics to follow this weekend.
  9. MBW DRSD. Aftermarket insert, Gen crown, Lugholes drilled, CG's worked on the inside. MBW crystal (I think). Difficult to tell with those pics. Comex from Josh or another.
  10. Nice watch Joe. Could do with lining up the chrono hands properly though.
  11. MBW DRSD for me this week, before I try something new!!
  12. I use Araldite Rapid. Yes you do waste a lot but it's better than losing a $150 insert!!!!!!!!!
  13. I'm with The Zigmeister on this. I even epoxy my GENUINE inserts in even though they are a snap in fit. Cost of losing a bezel insert is too much!!!!!!
  14. So would I. Just look at what he did with my 1680 dial.
  15. I'm with Randy on this one. I have loads of pictures of Gen 1680's and 1665's with white datewheels with flat 3's etc.
  16. Well if that's your next watch, this is mine.
  17. Great book. In Italian and English. Daytona Bible
  18. Try this. Done by Joe a while ago. And don't use anything less than 1.2mm in future!!! Keyless Works Fix
  19. That's because it's a great place to be and you're made to feel welcome.
  20. 5.5 I have serviced 2836's and 1 DW movement, plus all the usual mods. CG work I hate!!!!
  21. The DW's that I ordered for a myself and another member were about the same. The chrono hand had been glued on because it was the wrong size and the spare PN dial looked as crap as yours. Luckily I ordered a standard black dial which was fine, refitted the hands properly and took the opportunity to polish out the scratches at the same time. My experience with DW indicates he doesn't have a QA department!!!!!
  22. You need to countersink the hole with a cobalt drill but be careful you don't overdo it. If you use a drill a similar diameter as the tube you will be OK.
  23. Have you not bought a Dremel yet?
