alexs_mail_99
Received my 360 from Josh this week, smooth transaction as always. A few notes for you... will have pictures posted when I have a chance to shoot a few over the weekend. # The casework is very good. I have not seen a gen 360 in person, but compared to a few hi-res pictures available on the web, case tone and finish look pretty much identical. # Case back is also very nicely done. Crisp and deep engraving. # CG closes very tightly and clicks into place with authority. When open, the lever is by no means wobbly or loose, but maybe moves on its pin a little too freely to my taste. To give you an idea, it would not move under its own weight if I shake the watch, but also does not offer much resistance if I move it with my finger. # CG lever is a little thinner compared to the gen pictures on the web, e.g. at the bend by the tip. The tip is nice and round. From the top, the lever fits CG very tightly with no gap whatsoever. # The gap betwen the crown and the case is a little too pronounced. I would say it's probably 0.5 mm more than it needs to be as the tube comes out a little too far. This is probably the only negative I discovered so far. # The lume is exceptional. It is brighter than any other rep I own, and there are a few... in fact, its so bright on the 360 that indoors it makes the indices and the hands look greenish as it begins glowing the moment I step into a room that is even a little shaded. # I believe the dial is pretty good. The indices do not appear as raised as pictures of the gen show, but they are decently bold and the color appears to be reasonably close. I believe unless put side by side with the gen, it would be a tough call. # The crystal is good quality with clarity and AR on par with other recent releases (e.g. 005 / 111). I also own the DSN version of 360 from the while back it was released and I like them both. The pencil grey color on DSN cases is really nice, but to me it is more suitable for older pre-v models rather than a modern one like the 360. Also, DSN version offers neither the roller ball CG lever, nor the colorless AR on the crystal. On the plus side, DSN has a much better looking gap between the crown and the case, a thicker CG lever and a dial that looks marginally better to my eye (however the lume is nowhere as strong). alexs_mail_99
Just to add one more detail... the cannon pin on my new 360 is not DLC coated. I am not 100% sure whether that is correct or not, because in most gen pictures I've seen on the web it appears to be of regular variety as well. But I've also seen a few with a polished black pin... PeteM
Congrats mate Look forward to the pics really interested to know about accuracy of the lume uncharged. I don't think DSNs is DLC though is It?
MJC
DSN's latest version is the pencil lead grey pvd... It is closest to gen, almost and just about IDENTICAL... Friend has the genuine, I brought the DSN... You can hardly tell, very minor differences, the DSN is the best version out and nothing will top it ! alexs_mail_99
I like the DSN case set, but not having a rollerball CG lever bothered me every time. Also, comparing the two crystals side by side you can see the difference, the new 360 has the dial pop factor that DSN version does not. So what I've done with the DSN set is installed dial and hands from the H-factory 005 to turn it into 195. Just waiting for my custom caseback to finish that project. To me, that is the best of both worlds because the case tone and shape are so accurate and the CG lever is correct for that model. Together, 360 and 195 are essentially sister models, just like 249 and 232, for example.
projectologist
What appears to be a black polished cannon pin in some gen 360 pics is just a reflection of something dark or black in the room where the pic was taken. The gen is polished ss. Here's a pic that gives a good view of the gen crown/case gap and how much visible tube extends beyond the case.
alexs_mail_99
Cool, then the new rep is actually quite good. You'll see in the pictures tomorrow.
alexs_mail_99
Here is a picture I took this afternoon... capturing the real color for the indices was trickier than I thought, but after a number of attempts with different settings, this is the closest to the way it looks in real life. alexs_mail_99
... and here is the caseback. Overall, on camera the indices look lighter and the case tone appears darker than they really are.
bummerh12
It looks great! Love the strap combo. Beautiful piece mate.
Guest lolos
i think that the color of index is more white than the genuine pan
MJC
Looks great, but, the pvd/dlc is much darker than a GEN 360, and indices more white than vintage yellow/orange.... I'll post up pic's of mine tonight from DSN
alexs_mail_99
I could actually one-up you on that offer :0) Since I have both, I can post Josh and DSN 360 side by side under the same light and shot by the same camera, so you have a point of reference. Please do so... I will add though, my DSN 360 seems to be different from older DSN piece's as well, so i'll post mine up too.. This is his newest one, how old is yours? alexs_mail_99
My DSN is about a year old. Not sure how obvious that is from the picture, but the indices tone on the DSN 360 looks more yellowish compared to the new one, which is a more neutral beige. Not sure which one is closer to the gen. I believe there is also a very slight mismatch between hands and the dial on my DSN, which is also visible in the lume (the hands glow slightly dimmer).
